More Favorite Regency E-Sources
(continued from last month)

1. Austentation
This wonderful site is chock-full of great Regency interest
articles and illustrations, as well as being the web-based
home of a very talented seamstress, Laura Boyle. I own a
gorgeous Regency bonnet and matching reticule custom-made
by Laura, and the quality of her work is impressive. Need a
period costume? Do you participate in re-enactments or
Regency dancing? Visit Laura's site to get what you need!
Go here:
http://www.Austentation.com

2. The Republic of Pemberley
This is a truly fun, fan-based Jane Austen site, which in
addition to offering chat rooms and information pages, also
has an on-line store with "all things Jane" as its theme.
T-shirts, mugs, caps and more. Their byline is: "Your
haven in a world programmed to misunderstand obsession with
things Austen."
Visit them at:
http://www.pemberley.com/

3. The Georgian Index
A wonderful and valuable huge resource, arranged
alphabetically, with a great deal of information in its
pages. Illustrations and photographs abound, and though the
Georgian era is considered to have preceded the Regency,
nearly all of the information found here applies to the
latter period as well as the former. Visit the site at:
http://www.georgianindex.com

(Thought: The Regency of GEORGE, Prince of Wales, must be
considered part of the Georgian era. He became George IV,
after all, and followed fast on the heels of the previous
three Georges. Having said that, I am a staunch proponent
of the Regency as a distinct historical period, fully
deserving of the treatment and attention any other "era" of
history receives.)

4. Published by the JAC (Jane Austen Centre, in Bath,
England) Jane Austen's Regency World
Not an eZine, but a true printed magazine, having (I
believe) six issues per annum. Beautiful, glossy photos,
great Jane interest and Regency articles! Pricey, but if
you can afford it, a great treat. Check it out at:
http://www.janeausten.co.uk/magazine/index.ihtml?id=10&step=2

Regency Quote: Who Said It? (Can you guess?)

"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."

Here's a hint: The same person who said the above also
said,

"Soldiers usually win the battle, and generals get the
credit for them."

To see the answer, read to the end of the issue!

Linore's Top Resources for Writers

There are literally thousands of websites catering to
writers: new, seasoned, or aspiring writers. I don't claim
to have the best of them here, but I do have good ones that
I am familiar with and use myself. Here's a list of some I
couldn't do without:

1. The National Association of Women Writers
As a member of the NAWW, I can attest that they offer great
resources, a solid network of fellow authors and writers,
on-going workshops, teleseminars, transcripts and other
downloads and opportunities. You can get just the fr.ee
weekly email, or join and receive a great deal of valuable
help for your journey of writing. In short, if you want to
start, or further, your writing, the NAWW is a good place
to do either.

or,

2. Publishing Poynters Newsletter
My favorite book marketing resource, by Dan Poynter, 1x
month. But don't stop at the newsletter--Dan's got
everything covered on his website: resources, tips, news,
fre.ebies, how-to downloads and just tons of stuff.
Everything a writer could need or want, not just about
writing, but publishing and self-publishing.
Author-friendly and helpful! Get the newsletter and then
follow his links for other stuff. Go to:
http://www.parapublishing.com/sites/para/resources/
newsletter.cfm
Or, http://www.parapublishing.com

3. The Book Marketing Expert (Mini) Newsletter
"A newsletter all about SUCCESSFUL publishing and POWERFUL
promotion," by Penny C. Sansevieri. It's fr.ee and useful,
with links, news, and ideas, if a bit heavy on the sales
pitches for Penny's services. Get it at:
http://www.subsc_ribe@amarketingexpert.com

4. Self-Publishing @Yahoo.com
Get advice from the experts or just read the answers to
what others ask them. Self-publishing is a burgeoning
empire of many confusing choices, which makes this list
invaluable when needing help. Great for new or seasoned
writers or authors. Join the list for fr.ee at
http://www.self-publishing@yahoo.com

5. Rick Frishman's Author 101 Newsletter
Lots of great stuff with links, news, tips, guest writers,
and lists of resources, all in a friendly tone and
easy-to-read format for the author seeking to boost sales.
Don't miss this one. Go to:
http://www.author101.com/ezine.html

6. Book Marketing Matters
I always enjoy this one. A compilation of briefs from
industry experts on how to sell books. You never know when
that one idea which may propel your success may just pop
up. By Brian Jud. To subscribe, send an email to:
brianjud@comcast.net?subject=subscribe.

7. Mark Victor Hansen's "Rich Results" Newsletter
You know him as co-author of the "Chicken Soup" series.
Mark speaks to those seeking success in authoring and/or
self-actualization and/or finances. Intersperses advice
with sales pitches, but his advice is very, very good. Sign
up at:
http://www.markvictorhansen.com

8. Revelations: The Textbook Project
I would be remiss if I didn't mention my own opportunity
for writers, offered on my website.
If you are a faith-based writer (ie., Christian), this
could be a perfect vehicle to get your name out there! For
more information, go to:

July Subscriber Downloads

I chose this first ebook in honour of my dear UK friend,
Helen, who is a chocolate fiend. :o)She twice sent me
German chocolate (as she goes to Germany often), and is
planning on visiting me here in the US later this year. (
I've already picked out a chocolate shop for the
occasion--I'm ready for you, Helen!)
Get the download of the Ultimate Chocolate Cookbook here:

After downloading that ebook, get a second cookbook, just
in time for summer fun: "Camping and Outdoor Recipes."
